Robert's Bio

The Life History of Robert Lee Douthitt III

My name is Robert Lee Douthitt III…..

This is the story of my life journey with alcoholism, drugs, crime, incarceration, and eventually, recovery.  I've been clean and sober now since March 20th, 2004, and have hit rock bottom many times in my life.  I pray this will be my last.

This story was documented because I feel it is compelling enough to teach how to avoid such hardships and show that one can recover if they have already hit bottom.

This book has helped me in my own recovery, but just as important, to me, is the story touching someone who may be headed down the same path I've taken.   If I'm able to influence just one person to stop and think about his/her next choice in life, it will be worth telling my story to the world.

The Story…..

Some of the stories are humorous.  Some are so twisted it will turn your stomach, and drop your jaw to believe them.  Even so, all the stories are true.  Thank you for reading this far.  I hope in some way, by recounting my very painful, and often horrifying experiences, that I can make a positive difference in this small world we all live.

Live peacefully...

Robin's Bio

My name is Robin R. Rogers...

I’ve always loved reading and I can’t show enough respect for those authors who have the true knack of describing a character, or an environment, so well that - in your mind’s eye - you actually start seeing the characters as real, and feeling like you’re standing right beside them as they take their journeys.  That was my goal with ROCK BOTTOM.

I was 38 when I wrote ROCK BOTTOM.  It was a thrill becoming a published author.  But, the greatest reward was the privilege of living it all over again -through Bobby Lee.

“As I listened to him talk and tell me the stories that would unravel the journey of his life — and the pieces of his mind — it was hard to imagine that he was really the one who had done, and lived these  things.  It was like hearing him tell me stories about a stranger.  Someone he didn’t even know… I was spellbound."

“I’ve always wanted to tell a story, and he’s always had a story. For this purpose, we merge to raise a voice. Neither of us knows how this story will end.  But if it helps one person… it will be worth it.  Worth it to him, because his voice will be heard, and his past will serve a purpose.  Worth it to me, because I helped raise that voice into the hearts and hands of you.

With Bobby Lee, I found an experience and a friend that forever changed my life.

With ROCK BOTTOM  I hope you have found a story you will never forget and learned a lesson that can change your life.

Peace be the journey
